Easy Company

In the American army, a Parachute Infantry Regiment consists of three battalions three companies each. The companies have continuous numbering; at that, letter symbols are used: "A", "B", "C", "D", "E", etc. (thus, company "E" was the fifth company of the regiment and formed a part of the second battalion). In the phonetic system used as of that moment (where, for the purpose of convenience, a certain word corresponds to each letter) they were designated, respectively, as "Able", "Baker", "Charlie", "Dog", "Easy"...

But can it be everything easy with "Easy" company?
"Why is Easy Company the only company who’s either at the front of an advance or exposed at the far edge of the line?
We’re never in the middle. "

White spade

(on the right side of the cask) during the Second World War the symbol of the soldiers of Parachute Infantry Regiment No. 506, Airborne Division No. 101, US Army.

Development of MG 34 started at Mauser Werke Plant in Obendorf in 1934; after the relative works have been carried out, the army received to its inventory the first universal machinegun ("Unique"). AS it is equipped with the bipod, it could be used as the light one, and, when installed on the mounting - as the heavy machinegun. The distinctive feature of this model is a round casing with a large number of round holes for cooling.

The term, most probably, has come from Sauertkraut – the name of popular German dish. The stereotype of the German eating sauerkraut sends us to the earlier times; for example, he can be seen in the personage of a malicious German industrialist Schulz, portrayed by Jules Verne, an inveterate admirer of that dish (the book "The Begum's Millions").

"His Girl Friday"

In the first part of the serial, due to the flight cancelled for bad weather, the guys from E Company watching the film directed by Charles McArthur with Carrie Grant and Rosalind Russell starring.

"Seven Sinners"

For the second time, the Easy Company manages to get to the cinema in "Crossroads" part... On the screen movie with legendary Marlene Dietrich and John Wayne starring.

"Oklahoma!"

In "Why we fight" part, in the dialogue between Pat and O'Keefe, the question is two songs from the first musical in the history – the famous "Oklahoma!" by R. Rodgers and O. Hummerstein: the first one is cognominal - it’s it that the guys from Easy sing; the second is "The Surrey with the Fringe on Top", the name of which is played upon by Luz insinuating that he is the best...
